Visualisation for Builders and Building Designers

Get the sign-off the first time you show it. Concept visualisation for builders, building designers and small practices whose clients can't approve what they can't picture.

Beaches Drafting is a building design practice, not a render farm. We work from your drawings and sketches and we understand what you are proposing, so the concept holds up when it meets the builder.

Send us the drawings or sketches and the decision your client is stuck on, and we will tell you what we can show.

The problem: your client can't approve what they can't picture

You can read a plan. Your client usually can't. A floor plan, elevation or sketch tells a builder what to build, but it doesn't tell a homeowner what the finished project will feel like, so approvals stall, scope drifts and decisions get revisited.

What that costs you

  • Stalled sign-offs. The project waits on a client who can't commit to a layout or a finish.

  • Unpaid revision rounds. Every round of "can we see it differently?" comes out of your time.

  • Variations later. A change made after construction starts costs far more than one made at design stage.

  • Lost quotes. A competitor who shows a convincing picture can look more certain than you, even when your design is better.

What we do for you

We turn your drawings, sketches or model into realistic concept views your client can understand, so the conversation moves from "what am I looking at?" to "yes, that one".

  • Concept views from your drawings. Interiors and exteriors built from the documents you already have.

  • Option comparisons. Two cladding schemes, two layouts or two finish palettes side by side, so the client chooses instead of deferring.

  • Before and after. The existing building and the proposal from the same viewpoint, for renovation proposals.

  • Materials in context. Stone, timber and tile shown together in the actual space.

  • Visuals for promotion. Concept images of proposed or completed projects you want to show.

  • Short animations. A short architectural animation for presentations where a still image is not enough.

We confirm the views and the level of detail with you before we start, so you only pay for what the decision needs.

Where it wins jobs and saves time

  • Quote presentations. Show the client the finished result alongside your price.

  • Design approvals. Settle layouts and finishes before documentation and construction begin.

  • Variation prevention. Lock in the client's choices while they are still cheap to change.

  • Client meetings. Put the option on the table instead of describing it.

It is most useful where the client is a homeowner making a once-in-a-decade decision, and where a choice between options is the thing holding the project up.

Finishes decisions, in context

Small samples on a table are hard to judge. Seeing the same materials together in the actual room can help a client move from "I'm not sure" to a decision.

Why a building designer, not a render studio

A render studio makes whatever you send it look good. It can't tell you the beam won't fit, the setback is wrong or the approval pathway has changed. Beaches Drafting designs and documents renovations, so we notice these things while they are still pictures.

  • We read drawings as designers. Plans, sections and specifications make sense to us, not just the surface finish.

  • Credible visuals. Concepts reflect structure, services and approvals, so your client isn't shown something that can't be built.

  • A route to documentation. If the client approves, we can prepare the drawings for approval and builder pricing.

Pairs with our design services

Visualisation sits alongside our work as a building designer on the Northern Beaches and our drafting services. Builders and designers use us for a single project or as an extra pair of hands when the workload is high.

Beaches Drafting is led by Deon Du Plessis, an architecturally-focussed building designer with more than 20 years in professional architectural practices across Johannesburg, London and Sydney.

How it works

  1. Short call. Tell us about the project and the decision your client is stuck on.

  2. You send what you have. Drawings, sketches, photos of the existing building and any finishes already selected. We will confirm what else we can work from.

  3. We confirm the views and quote them. The views, options and level of detail, with a clear fee before we start.

  4. We visualise. Concept views built from your documents.

  5. Review and refine. You respond, we make the agreed changes, and you settle on the views to show.

  6. Delivery. Images for your presentation, clearly labelled as concepts.

What does visualisation for builders and designers cost?

It depends on the project, so we do not publish a flat price. The fee is set by the number of views, the complexity of the design and how many options you want compared. We quote after seeing your drawings, so you know the fee before we start. If you need visualisation regularly, tell us and we will discuss how to set that up.

Important: concepts, not construction documents

Visualisations are design concepts for communication and decision-making. They are not construction documents or specifications, and they do not guarantee approval, feasibility, cost or the final outcome. Responsibility for design, specification, approvals and construction stays with the people who hold it. Site conditions, structural engineering, certification and council or strata requirements can all change what is built.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this for?

Renovation builders, building designers and small practices who want clients to understand and approve a design faster, whether for a single project or as occasional extra capacity.

Can you work from my drawings?

Send what you have and we will confirm what we can work from. Drawings and sketches are the usual starting point.

Will the visuals match my design?

We follow your documents. If something doesn't resolve or can't be built as drawn, we will flag it rather than hide it.

How is this different from a render studio?

A render studio draws what it is given. Beaches Drafting designs and documents renovations, so the concept reflects structure, services and approvals, and it can carry through into drawings if the client proceeds.

How are the images used and credited?

We agree usage and credit up front, so you know how the images can be shown to your clients.

How long does it take?

It depends on the scope. We give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.
